Registration at Calgary Board of Education (CBE) schools is not determined on a first come, first served basis. Registration and admission to schools in CBE is governed by the Education Act and Administrative Regulation 6090 | Child and Student Registration and Admission.
Kindergarten at Janet Johnstone School
At Janet Johnstone School, we have Regular Program (English) and French Immersion kindergarten classes. The kindergarten program is a half-day program with AM or PM classes Monday to Thursday and alternating Friday mornings. When parents register, they can share their preference for AM or PM. School administration will make class lists and notify parents of their child's class in May 2025.
French Immersion Information Evening

Please join us to learn about the benefits of Early French Immersion for Kindergarten and grade 1 on January 20, 2025 at 6:00pm. We will share with parents all the reasons why learning another language is so beneficial for children at a young age. This is an in-person event!

- We look forward to hosting a Kindergarten Orientation for our students that are registered for 2025/26!
- Join us to learn about what Kindergarten looks like, how to help your child prepare for September, to see the learning space, and lots of other really useful information!
- Kindergarten Orientation is for both the French and English programs.
