This year, our School Development Plan focuses on teachers using high-impact teaching strategies to improve students' results in Literacy, Numeracy and Well-Being. Through the intentional design of the learning environment, students will improve in Literacy, Numeracy and Well-Being. . Teachers have been engaging in professional learning and working with their teaching teams to broaden their knowledge of:
-strategies to engage students in writing and to use feedback to enhance their work
-teaching specific vocabulary in mathematics
-developing oral language skills in English and French
-ways that different cultures do math
-strategies to help students with self-regulation and relationship skills
Our staff has also been focusing on increasing students' feelings of belonging and connection to our school with school-wide initiatives such as:
-classroom buddies
-Carnaval events
-whole-school assemblies on Fridays
-Family Cultural Night coming up in April
-Family groups coming up in March
Parents and guardians will be able to examples of our shared work and student learning at Student-Involved Conferences on March 20 and 21!
