Each year, we analyze many sources of data such as student achievement on report cards and other assessments and perception data from students, parents and staff. We use this data to create a School Development Plan that is supportive of CBE's Education Plan.

During the 2023 - 2024 school year, we focused on designing engaging tasks in literacy and mathematics and fostering feelings of belonging at school. We are proud to celebrate our successes in the following areas:

·       students’ achievement in reading, writing and math

·       student’s engagement in math

·       students’ feeling of belonging and positive peer relationships

·       parents’ satisfaction in their children’s language arts and math instruction

·       teachers’ satisfaction in professional development opportunities

For the 2024 - 2025 school year, we will utilize high impact literacy and numeracy strategies to engage students, focusing on:  

·       Explicit instruction of Tier 2 vocabulary words.

·       Teach purposeful planning and meaningful writing tasks.

·       Provide discourse rich math and literacy environments.

·       Incorporate oral language routines into mathematics class.

We will foster a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment in the following ways:

·       Design engaging and interactive writing and math tasks.

·        Foster productive struggle and growth mindset.

·       Collaborate with students to display supportive vocabulary in the classroom for Math Talks/ la discussion mathématique.

·       Explicitly teach the five Social Emotional Learning competencies in the context of the classroom and whole school.

·       Value different ways of knowing and doing math.

·       Empower students to have a voice in learning and assessment.

·       Provide professional learning and resources to build and apply culturally responsive teaching and learning.

·       Integrate French culture into whole-school events.
