Dear JJ Parents/Guardians,

I am writing to inform you that I will be the new Principal of Sam W. Shaw, effective August 26. I am incredibly honored for this new opportunity and I look forward to what my next professional adventure has in store.

Janet Johnstone School will always be an extremely special place to me. It is here that I have learned so much about the power of relationships, leadership, and community.  I am leaving JJ as a stronger leader, teacher, and friend.  I am so very proud of the students and everything they have accomplished.  I am in awe each and every day of what they are capable of.  The parent community at JJ is integral to the learning successes at school. Our students and staff have benefited from such a magnetic group of parents who have demonstrated unwavering support for public education. The staff have been my team, day in and day out.  I have learned so much from each individual staff member and I will carry all of these professional experiences with me.

JJ has filled my heart. I have been so proud to be the principal of JJ for the past five years and I hope that I have left a positive impact on your child and family.  I am not saying good-bye, I’m just going to be across the field and I’ll see you soon…perhaps when your child moves to Sam Shaw for grade 5!
