Support Staff Appreciation

This week we celebrated our dedicated support staff. We are so fortunate to have a team of professionals who show up every day to make our students' experiences at JJ enjoyable and safe. Thank you to our amazing office staff, library staff, education assistants, lunchroom staff and facilities staff!!!

Another big thank you goes to School Council! The handwritten notes and gift cards are so appreciated!!!

Scholastic Book Fair April 27 to 30!

Thank you to our volunteer Kim, library assistant Mrs. Knox and other volunteers for all their work in organizing a Scholastic Book Fair! Students will preview the sale early in the week, bring a wish list home and then they can bring money to school and shop. Family members can come and shop after school on Thursday, April 30 from 2:30 to 3:30PM.

Thank you for supporting our school at the Book Fair! Proceeds from the Book Fair allow us to purchase new books and other resources for our school!

To celebrate the Book Fair, we will have a Spirit Day. Students are invited to dress like their favourite book character on Thursday, April 30!

CBE-Wide Indigenous Education Professional Learning Day

On Friday, April 24, our teaching staff met to deepen our knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation and to plan learning activities to connect the content from the Alberta curriculum to Indigenous ways of knowing using picture books from our diverse library collection. Our Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation for the 2025 - 2026 school year can be found here: TRC

Digital Citizenship and Screen Time

At our Professional Learning Day, teachers also reviewed our Digital Citizenship Plan. This year, we have been focusing on keeping passwords safe and having a healthy and safe balance of digital technology. Teachers will be investigating how to balance screen time at home and school with their students. Information about screen time from Alberta Health Services can be found here: AHS
