With Gratitude
We are fortunate to have such a caring school community! Thank you to the volunteers for the kindergarten field trip this week and next week and to volunteers throughout the school. Thank you to the audience members for our grade 1 and 2 concerts for supporting our performers and our music program. Another big thank you goes to the volunteers who came out to put up and take down our banner on the overpass. We appreciate your support for our school!
Planning for Next Year
We have already begun planning for the 2026 -2027 school year! It is very important for us to have an accurate count of the number of students that will be attending our school next year so we can have the right number of staff.
Students in Kindergarten to grade 3 who live in our attendance area do not need to register for next year's grade. If you live in a different area, you will be contacted by our office staff. If your child will not be attending Janet Johnstone next year, please contact the office by calling (403) 777-8670 or emailing jnstahl@cbe.ab.ca .
Grade 4 students have been automatically designated to Samuel W. Shaw for English and Woodman School for French Immersion. If you do not live in the attendance area for these schools, your child has been designated to their school. Please contact the office by calling (403) 777-8670 or emailing jnstahl@cbe.ab.caif you have questions or if your plans have changed.
Reminder About Toys and Other Personal Items at School
Please help your child remember our rule about toys at school:
We request that parents not allow their children to bring toys or items of considerable monetary or personal value to school. Due to the conflicts they can create, the following specific items are not allowed at school: Pokémon cards and fidget spinners.
The CBE cannot be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
Bringing Technology to School
Reminder: Personal Mobile Devices (PMDs) may not be used at school. PMDs are defined as:
Any personal electronic device that can be used to communicate with or access the internet, such as a cellphone, tablet, gaming device, laptop, or smartwatch. This also may include devices capable of communicating with a PMD (e.g. Bluetooth devices) such as headphones, earbuds, or smart speakers.
