Thank you to all the family members that were able to join us for our Terry Fox Run! We will count up our donations and let you know if we have met our goal of $1000!
Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation at JJ
Please wear orange on Wednesday, October 1 to honour children who went to residential schools and to show that every child matters. Teachers will be leading learning activities all week that help students understand Indigenous perspectives, the importance of the land and respect for all.

Safety Drills
This week we had our first fire drill. Students and staff exited the school quickly and quietly and all students were accounted for very quickly. This is our first of six fire drills this school year, as required by Alberta Education. We will also have 2 lockdown drills this school year with support from Calgary Police Service.
Casino Volunteers Needed!
JJ School Council is still in need of volunteers for the Casino on October 20 and 21. Casinos raise a lot of money for fundraising initiatives such as a new playground for Janet Johnstone.
