Dear Next Year Kindergarten Families!

Welcome to Janet Johnstone School!  We are so excited to have you join the JJ family in August 2024! 

We would like to formally invite you to our Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, June 6, 6:00-7:00pm.  This is for both the English program and the French Immersion program.

During the orientation, you will hear from the current Kindergarten teachers and administrators to learn all about the first few days of school and how to get your child ready for Kindergarten in the coming months.

The orientation is geared to parents- it’s a very information heavy presentation.  Due to the sheer volume of attendees, we will not be giving a tour of the school, however, the teachers will have their Kindergarten classrooms open for viewing after the presentation. We highly recommend that you bring something to take notes with- we have lots of information to share with you.

During the presentation, we will also provide a clear explanation of what French Immersion Kindergarten entails. 

Due to staffing and ongoing registrations, we are uncertain of who the teaching staff will be.  Please note: there will be one AM and one PM class for both English and French Immersion Kindergarten. (In the past, we had two AM English Kindergarten classes and no PM.  We are unable to continue with this due to space).

We need some volunteers to move their child to the PM class.  If we do not get enough volunteers, we may have to do a lottery for AM and PM placements. If you would like to secure an afternoon spot, please email Mrs. Stahl jnstahl@cbe.ab.ca ASAP.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you on June 6!  You won’t want to miss this informative evening.  If you know of anyone that has not registered for Kindergarten yet and JJ is the designated school, please invite them to attend the orientation.  Everyone is welcome!
