One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. About Our Parent Society
Our Parent Society is known as the Friends of Janet Johnstone School Association (FJJSA).
Friends of Janet Johnstone School Association, also known as FJJSA, is a dedicated volunteer group of parents, caregivers, and school supporters who work together to strengthen and enrich our school community. Through fundraising initiatives, volunteer opportunities, family events, and collaborative activities, we support student learning, school programs, technology, playground improvements, field trips, arts, extracurricular activities, and enhanced learning experiences for all students.
Beyond supporting school programs, FJJSA also fosters meaningful connections between families, staff, and the broader community, helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive. We encourage all families to get involved, share ideas, and participate in making our school a positive and engaging place for everyone. Meeting Dates and Times
Our Parent Society FJJSA (Friends of Janet Johnstone School Association) meets one Tuesday a month after our JJSC (Janet Johnstone School Council) meeting. The meetings are held at the school and online beginning at 6:30PM. Here are the dates for the 2026 - 2027 school year:
