1^st Annual Shawnessy Classic in the Johnstone-dome!

 

Today’s staff (visitors) vs. students (home) game was an epic showdown of skill and competition.  The crowd was supportive, loud, and very enthusiastic!  It was a sold out event!

The game went into the fourth period with a win by the home team- the students!  The final score was 25-21!  Well done students!

We even had a few penalties- some staff members had to spend time in the penalty box!

• Mrs. Galvin got 7 minutes for dangerous use of her stick (she bent the blade for an advantage!)
• Ms. Puffer, Ms. Terri, Mrs. Wideman, and Mme Becky got 10 minutes (at the same time!  The sin bin was full!) for ignoring the ref (Mrs. Kivi)
• Mme Becky- for 5 minutes for aggressive playing (she took down her own team member, Ms. Terri!  Ms. Terri had to head straight off the floor and down the hall to the infirmary)
• Mrs. Duthie was kicked out of the game for un-sportsman like conduct (shooting at an open net during shift change, and then being sassy with the ref!)

Mrs. Kivi proved that she’s missed her calling- ref, time keeper, and DJ! 

We are already looking forward to next year’s game… bring it on!
